Pogba is preparing for his return to football when his suspension for doping, which was reduced from four years to 18 months, will end in March. The midfielder has been looking for a new club since the termination of his contract at Juventus and proposed to La Fiorentina.

After careful thinking, however, the Viola rejected its approach because its wage requirements exceed their budget and they do not intend to bring it to the club, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The Viola closes the door

Pogba, 31, had been linked to a return to France, Marseille being apparently interested, although coach Roberto de Zerbi explained that they had decided not to add the former Manchester United star to the team.

The French international has not received any concrete offer so far despite his imminent return. A transfer to MLS has been mentioned as a possibility, but it might prefer to stay in Europe for the moment.
