The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Bethrand Onuoha, has presented cheques worth N19.2 million to the families of six police officers who died in active service.

This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya.

“The CP, while presenting the cheques in his office, disclosed that the gesture is part of Group Life Assurance Scheme aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased Police Officers,” Aya noted.

He appreciated the Inspector General of Police’s efforts to reduce the hardship faced by the families of the fallen heroes.

He urged the beneficiaries to make use of the money for the betterment of their families.

The beneficiaries thanked the IG for the gesture and promised to use the money for the families’ benefit.
