Popular Nigerian Juju singer, King Rokan is dead

A prominent U.S.-based Juju singer, Richard Olorunrokan Adekola, popularly known as King Rokan, has passed away.

TheNewsGuru reports that King Rokan, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, died on Monday, January 13, 2025.

As of the filing of this report, the cause of his death remains unknown. However, news of his passing has plunged fans and the music community into mourning in Nigeria and abroad.

One user, Hajiafatimahomoola wrote: “King Rokan of ATL. May God forgive your sin and grant your soul eternal rest. Rest in peace brother.”

Another user, honeyp_store1 wrote: May we not die young. Rest well sir…”

King Rokan, known for his rich contributions to Juju music, was also the CEO of the Rokan Adekola Foundation. He released several albums, including the popular “Oba Ti De” and “Ilara,” which earned him recognition in the industry.

He’s survived by his wife and children.
