Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia’s marriage is officially over, a little more than one year after they tied the knot.

Porsha’s team reached out after the filing and are telling the media that the divorce is “unrelated to recent allegations involving Simon’s past.”
As Media Take Out reported, something seemed a bit fishy with Simon – a Nigerian millionaire with questionable sources of income.
Media Take Out broke the news that last month, a man bearing the same name as Simon was denied citizenship by an Atlanta federal judge. The judge, in issuing his ruling, claimed the man was arrested for multiple frauds – 30 years ago.

(Photo by Paras Griffin/Getty Images)The court also alleges that “Simon” was a fake name, that the man fraudelently used to get into the United States after he was deported for his crimes many years ago.
Porsha, 42, and Simon, 59, said “I do” were wed in November 2022 in a Nigerian traditional native law and custom ceremony followed by an American ceremony in Atlanta.
The pair went overboard on social media, when they announced their engagement in May 2021 after just one month of dating. “Yes we are crazy in love,” Williams captioned a selfie with Guobadia. “I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night.”

(Photo by Paras Griffin/Getty Images)Porsha — whose mom to 4-year-old daughter Pilar (from a previous relationship) — announced she is set to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for its upcoming sixteenth season. She is estimated to make close to $2 million per season.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family,” she said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to being back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and showing the world my new world!”
Williams first joined RHOA back in its fifth season. After leaving the show in season 13, she and Guobadia appeared together on Real Housewives spinoff Porsha’s Family Matters in 2021.
