Porsha Williams is breaking her silence on estranged husband Simon Guobadia‘s ICE detainment. On Friday (February 21), it was reported that Simon, 60, who was born in Nigeria, is currently being held at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, according to U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s records, obtained by People. Following the news, Porsha, 43, took to Instagram to address the situation. Keep reading to find out more…“It’s disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star wrote. “At this moment my priority is moving forward with my family. 🙏🏾” Simon‘s detainment comes amid President Donald Trump‘s mass deportation plan, which he signed into effect last month following his inauguration. According to Atlanta’s WSB-TV 2, Simon came to the United States from Nigeria in 1982 and allegedly overstayed his via and declared deplorable in 1985. He returned to America in 1986 and once again overstayed his work visa. He was arrested in 1987 and pleaded guilty to bank and credit card fraud. Simon was later arrested two more times and deported back to Nigeria in 1992. He was able to return to the United States a month later and later applied for naturalization in 2016. However, he was denied by the U.S. government. Last year in February, Atlanta Black Star reported that Simon had been repeatedly denied residency in the U.S, and at the time, he seemed unbothered by his citizen status. “Happy Tuesday to all who ever overcame and persevered in life. If you didn’t know, Porsha and Simon married in November 2022 and she filed for divorce 15 months later.
