Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has tendered an apology following a recent confrontation with a preacher outside his bar.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker confronted a  man who appears to be a preacher outside his establishment in Sango Ota, Ogun state.

The apparently infuriated singer in a video that has since gone viral queried the middle-aged man holding a Bible asking “why disturb my clients on Monday morning” before slapping him.

“This is how they spoil my business and disturb my business. Are you crazy? Early on a Monday, you’re spoiling my business. I had prayed for myself before leaving home,” he added before asking the man to leave the vicinity.

Speaking about his actions, Portable explained that his reaction stemmed from a past traumatic experience involving his sister, who was once attacked by someone posing as a pastor.

According to the singer, the pastor exhibited a behavior that seemed suspicious, leading him to believe it was another setup.

While apologising for his actions, he emphasised that his response was driven by distress and self-protection.

“They wanted to set me up. He was not a man of God, and if he was, may God forgive me for slapping him.

“If I knew he was a real man of God, I wouldn’t have slapped him. The way he acted was why I slapped him. I’m human, and I’m not perfect,” Portable stated.

The apology came after gospel singer Testimony Jaga gave Portable a three-day ultimatum to apologise to the pastor or face unspecified consequences.
