The elder sister of Portable, Gbemisola, has pleaded with the Ogun government to have mercy on the singer, saying his recent misbehaviour is a result of a spiritual spell cast upon him by a family member.
TheNewsGuru recalls that the singer had assaulted officials from the state’s ministry of physical planning and urban development, which led to the arrest and arraignment of his associates.
They, were however granted bail of N5 million each with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government, with the case was adjourned until March 17 for further hearing.
Amid the controversy, a man identified as Akeem, who claimed to be a relative of Portable, released a video criticizing the singer.
He accused Portable of neglecting his family despite his success. He also alleged that he lost his job as a driver due to Portable’s actions.
“Portable, you will not escape this. You keep saying they should help you because that’s the means you use in taking care of your family. Which family did you help?” he said.
“Because of you I got sacked as a driver. Dapo Abiodun will instruct them to demolish you bar, you will not escape.”
However, Portable’s sister countered Akeem’s claims, describing them as “false”.
She recounted how Portable has been supportive of their family, providing financial assistance and helping her during a time of illness.
She said, “Good day Nigerians, I’m Portable’s elder sister, the first child of his mother. We are just three to whom our mother gave birth.
“Portable tries for the family, he does his work diligently and has never stolen. Nobody helped us when we were suffering but when Portable became successful he helped the family.
“I’m doing this because of the post one of our family member, Akeem, made. All what Akeem said is false.
“Habeeb takes care of the family and he is the reason I’m still alive. Habeeb gives him Akeem money as well. He is also the one casting spell on Portable. He is the one spiritually influencing Portable to misbehave and offend Nigerians.”
