EXCLUSIVE: Production has wrapped on location in Australia on the possession horror film Diabolic, written by Mike Harding and Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken). Phillips also directed the film.

The story revolves around a woman who participates in a healing ceremony conducted by the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS), aimed to relieve her of her unexplained blackouts. During the ceremony, they unwittingly unleash the demonic spirit of a witch, determined to take revenge on all those who have wronged her. Above is a first look image.

Elizabeth Cullen (Elvis) plays the lead role of Elise, with John Harlan Kim (The Little Things) playing her husband, Adam, and Mia Challis (Outer Banks) playing her best friend, Gwen.

First footage of the film will be unveiled to buyers by Film Bridge International’s After Dark label at the upcoming American Film Market in Las Vegas.

Silvio Salom of Sunjive Studios produced the film along with Grant Hardie, Mark Patterson and Phillips.

“We’ve tried to imbue every frame with dread, and create something that audiences can really sink their teeth into. It’s relentless, unsettling, and everything I’ve ever wanted to bring to the horror genre,” said Phillips. “Get ready, because this is the kind of horror that stays with you.”

“Diabolic is precisely the kind of elevated, theatical genre content our global customers are looking for in the marketplace,” said Film Bridge International’s Jordan Dykstra. “We are very excited to be showcasing footage at AFM.”

Elizabeth Cullen is repped by Linsten Management and Amplified. John Harlan Kim is repped by CBM Management, Echo Lake Entertainment and Buchwald. Mia Challis is repped by Moore Creative Artists, Stewart Talent and 42. Daniel J. Phillips is repped by Zero Gravity Management.
