There is growing uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag and his position as Manchester United manager, with the FA Cup final earlier this weekend potentially being his final game in charge of the club.

Ten Hag’s men secured trophies in back-to-back seasons in that final, deservedly beating cross-city rivals Manchester City in the Wembley final following goals from academy graduates Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Earlier on Sunday, it was claimed that Manchester United had held talks with two potential replacements for Ten Hag if the Dutchman was to leave the club this summer.

Ten Hag has one year remaining on the contract he signed in 2022 and it seems like no decision has been made on his future yet but a review will be held next week.

It’s claimed that Thomas Frank and Mauricio Pochettino, the former Chelsea manager, are the managers United have held talks with in the case of a managerial exit at Old Trafford.

Now, it is being reported that Pochettino could sign two Chelsea players before the end of next month if he ends up taking the Old Trafford hot seat.

That’s according to Football Insider, who say that midfielder Conor Gallagher and centre-back Trevoh Chalobah could be of interest.

As per the report, Chelsea could become desperate to stay within the sidelines of the Premier League profit and sustainability rules and that could prompt quick player sales.

It’s claimed that should Pochettino make the move to Old Trafford, he could return to his old club to reunite with the two English stars.

Gallagher has just one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and was one of the Argentinian’s most used players in his only season at Chelsea.

Strengthening the midfield will be one of United’s main priorities this summer and signing a centre-back won’t fall far behind on the to-do list.
