Power Book II: Ghost has scored a record audience at Starz ahead of the anticipated Season 4 finale.
The new season is averaging 10.5M multi-platform viewers per episode in the first 90 days since Season 4 premiered, according to data from the network. That’s an all-time high for the series.
Episode 8, which aired on September 20, delivered 6% audience growth week-over-week in the three days post-premiere, Starz said.
The series continues to index well with Black households, as Episode 8 was the top cable program among the demographic in key markets like Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles.
In fact, Season 4 Part 1 and 2 both debuted as the highest-rated cable program among Black households in their respective premiere weekends.
To date, the Power universe has amassed 1.6B hours watched, Starz said.
It’s the beginning of the end for Season 4, with the two-part finale kicking off September 27 at midnight ET on the Starz app and via linear at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. and 9 p.m. ET in Canada.
Power Book II: Ghost is the first series in the expanded Power universe. Part 2 of the final season will showcase the adage “Like father, Like son.” Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) finds himself in an eerily similar situation, just like his late father Ghost (Omari Hardwick), stuck between a rock and a hard place, with the choice to leave the game or take over.
The cast also includes Mary J. Blige as “Monet Tejada”, Cliff “Method Man” Smith as “Davis MacLean,” Gianni Paolo as “Brayden Weston,” Woody McClain as “Cane Tejada,” Lovell Adams-Gray as “Dru Tejada,” LaToya Tonodeo as “Diana Tejada”, Alix Lapri as “Effie Morales,” Larenz Tate as “Rashad Tate,” Caroline Chikezie as “Noma,” Lightskinkeisha as “Brushaundria Carmichael” and Michael Ealy as “Detective Don Carter.”
Brett Mahoney serves as showrunner and executive producer for Season 4. The Power universe series is executive produced by the creator and showrunner of the original Power, Courtney A. Kemp, through her production company End of Episode, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Canton Entertainment. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.
