Power minister hails Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has hailed President Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle, announced on Wednesday.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Strategic Communication and Media Relations, Bolaji Tunji, the minister congratulated the Oyo State-born former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on his appointment as a Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation to Tinubu.

Similarly, he extended his congratulatory message to the newly appointed Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, a former senior lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, along with other federal ministers appointed by the President.

Adelabu described the appointments of the ministers as testaments to the President’s confidence in identifying and seeking out competent individuals to steer the ship of the Nigerian state.

“Being selected by Mr President is a reflection of their ability, exceptional leadership, and expertise,” Adelabu said.

Speaking further, the minister described Dare as a professional media consultant who would bring to bear his years of experience in his new role.

Adelabu commended Oduwole, who was also a former Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business in the Office of the Vice President, among other positions she has held in the past, adding that her experience in these previous roles would stand her in good stead as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Regarding the other newly appointed ministers, Adelabu stated that their dedication and vision will undoubtedly propel Nigeria forward, urging them to see their appointments as opportunities to serve their fatherland and advance Nigeria to new heights.

Adelabu wished the new nominees wisdom, strength, and success in their new roles.

The PUNCH recalls that Tinubu sacked five of his ministers on Wednesday.

The affected ministers are the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Kennedy Ohanenye; the Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John; the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman; the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo; and the Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim.
