Powerhouse Hobbs sends a warning.
Following his return to AEW television, Powerhouse Hobbs noted his intention to blend his real-life personality with his on-screen character. In addition, Hobbs looks to spark fear into his AEW peers and fans. During a recent appearance on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Hobbs further explained this approach.
“Everybody should just be afraid,” Hobbs said. “I’m from a two square mile city, East Palo Alto, used to be the murder capital of the US. Everyone needs to be afraid. And I don’t say it to intimidate anyone, it’s just you’re going to see a version of Will Hobbs and Will Hobson. The mixture of those two people was dangerous.”
“… I feel in order for me to accomplish my goals, I need to bring that in there,” he continued. “I think for the past four and a half years, I’ve been this person that’s done everything by the book and waited my turn. It’s time that I just start taking s***. There’s a lot of people that brag about what they have and what they got here. Me personally, first thing I think of okay well where I’m from, you bragging about what you got, I’m just going to take s***. I’m going to take it and do something about it.”
According to Hobbs, he will prove that he is more than a powerhouse that enjoys lifting weights; he can also fight. Furthermore, Hobbs warns that “somebody’s going to get hurt” because, sometimes, he just can’t control his anger.
