The upcoming days could prove to be crucial for Vitor Roque, who has no place in the Barcelona team and is expected to leave the club before the end of August.

Barça are not expected to make any efforts to register him to the squad, with the player himself being closely linked with moves to various European clubs.

Real Betis became the latest club to join the race to sign Roque, but the Spanish outfit are facing multiple obstacles in their bid to acquire the Barcelona frontman.

Everton lead race to sign Roque

According to MARCA, Everton are best-positioned to sign Vitor Roque this summer, especially with Spanish clubs scrambling due to FFP regulations.

The Premier League outfit currently do not have a number nine in their team, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin being strongly linked with a move away from Goodison Park.

Having offloaded former Barcelona target Amadou Onana for a fortune, Everton have cash to burn on a new forward, with Vitor Roque emerging as the ideal option.

Although the Brazilian has struggled to prove himself at Barcelona, he does have great potential and could prove to be an intriguing bet for coach Sean Dyche.

What about Real Betis?

As far as Real Betis are concerned, Los Verdiblancos are also looking for a new number nine.

The club are particularly eyeing a move for Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko, but Roque, too, has emerged as an option.

However, Real Betis are not in a position to make a move for Roque unless they manage to secure an exit that brings high capital gains.

This has given Everton the upper hand, as the Premier League outfit looks to lure the Barcelona forward to English shores this summer.
