The transfer window is closed but that won’t stop the media from linking Manchester United with new players.
There is not a club in the Premier League that deals with the same level of scrutiny or negative agendas from the media. Column inches are dedicated to United each week and news anchors are trained to toe the agenda, whatever it is.
Look at Sky Sports this weekend as an example. United beat Brentford 2-1 on Saturday, but they decided to get the thoughts of former Premier League striker Dean Ashton, who said United are ‘pathetic’ in his assessment.
Boca Juniors star Kevin Zenon linked to Manchester United
Photo by Hernan Cortez/Getty ImagesAccording to TBR Football, Boca Juniors are expecting to lose Kevin Zenon in January.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of Boca’s key players in Fernando Gago’s line-up.
The report lists several clubs interested in Zenon and they include Napoli. Atalanta, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Atletico Madrid.
A previously published report from O Jogo states that Zenon has a £13m release clause in his current deal.
They also note interest from the Premier League from United, Tottenham, Newcastle, Fulham and Everton.
This season Zenon has registered 11 goal involvements across 38 appearances.
If United were to secure Zenon’s signature, it is understood that he will be competing with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford for a place in the team.
This will come as a concern to Antony because he has already been pushed down the pecking order by Amad Diallo this season.
