We knew Newcaslte’s strength of character at home. This evening, Eddie Howe’s men managed to win their match despite two equalizers from Nottingham Forest (2-3). Bruno Guimarães got his team off to a good start, the first scorer of the match. Left alone at the far post following a corner, the Brazilian perfectly took a cross from Kieran Trippier (10th). At home, the Reds cool Newcastle’s enthusiasm with Anthony Elanga. The Swede, launched in depth, took advantage of Martin Dubravka’s too early exit to equalize (26th). Not necessarily comfortable in set phases, Nottingham Forest were surprised on a long free kick. Without managing to clear the ball, Fabian Schar allowed his team to take the lead (43rd). His third goal in two weeks for the Swiss defender. The joy was again short-lived. The self-sacrifice of the premises once again allows the equalization.

Callum Hudson-Odoi puts the two teams back on level terms before the break thanks to a superb strike from the right (45th+6). After his return to the Premier League pitches, Harvey Barnes once again had an hour of play. But it was not he who allowed his team to win their match but rather Bruno Guimarães. The Brazilian continued to dazzle the Premier League by scoring a double, this time with a powerful strike low to the right post. His third double since joining Newcastle (2021), the first this season, gives Newcaslte victory. The Magpies are back in the race for European places. Nottingham Forest marks the occasion with a fourth match without a win, they are now 16th in the Premier League.
