It is no secret that Barcelona have found German managers quite fascinating in their bid to replace Xavi Hernandez in the coming summer.
The club are keeping tabs on Jurgen Klopp, Julian Nagelsmann, and Hansi Flick, among other German coaches.
Flick is the most gettable option from this list. He is also the only German option that is currently not employed.
Regarded highly in Europe due to his dream spell at Bayern, where he helped the Bavarian giants win the treble in 2020, Flick has yet to coach a team after being relieved of his duties as the head coach of the German national team last year.
Several PL clubs interested in Hansi Flick
However, Flick’s status as a free agent does not make him an easy signing for Barcelona.
The German, in fact, is being courted by several Premier League clubs, according to a report from Sky Sports Germany (h/t FCB World).
Will Flick move to the Premier League? (Photo by Lars Baron/Getty Images)This is highly surprising as Flick is noted for his man-management skills and ability to assemble a cohesive unit. His aggressive, counter-attacking football is also something the Premier League values quite highly.
Bayern return not an option
Flick is currently an option even for Bayern Munich as the Bavarians look to ready a potential replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who is going through a torrid time at Allianz Arena.
However, Sky Sports adds that a return to Bayern is not an option for Flick at the moment. The German is not too keen on the idea of taking over Bayern in the middle of the season.
That puts Barcelona and other Premier League clubs in the spotlight, as far as the race to hire Flick is concerned.
However, the Catalans are not expected to rush into this and will bide their time by exploring other options, before they take a final call on the manager this summer.
