The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, August 14 2024, officially unveiled Premium Trust Bank as the new Official Bank of the federation and Nigeria’s national teams at a signing ceremony held in Abuja.
NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) announced that the partnership agreement, spanning four years, will see Premium Trust Bank contribute N300 million annually, with a 10% annual increase built into the contract. Gusau expressed gratitude for the bank’s substantial support and its significant role in advancing Nigerian sports in under three years.
“We are thrilled to partner with Premium Trust Bank, which has shown impressive commitment to sports despite its relatively short time in the financial sector,” Gusau Thenff.com quoted Gusau as saying, highlighting the bank’s enthusiasm for supporting Nigerian youth from grassroots to elite levels.

Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim CON, Managing Director/CEO of Premium Trust Bank, outlined the bank’s extensive sports support, including its collaboration with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, backing for Tobi Amusan, sponsorship of the 2022 National Sports Festival, and support for Bayelsa Queens in the CAF Women Champions League. The bank is also set to sponsor the 2024 Abuja Half Marathon and this year’s National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
“Our support for sports reflects our commitment to making a positive impact. We believe the private sector has a crucial role in providing platforms for youth to showcase their talents and contribute to national development,” Emefienim said, emphasising that supporting football and nurturing grassroots talent aligns with Premium Trust Bank’s mission to elevate Nigerian football.
Gusau reiterated the NFF’s dedication to enhancing Nigerian football across all areas and encouraged other corporate entities to follow Premium Trust Bank’s example in supporting Nigerian football.

“While celebrating the coming of Premium Trust Bank which is the first huge partnership that we are signing, we call on credible corporate entities like the bank to come forward and support the Nigeria game,” Gusau stated.
The signing ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Sub-Committee; Alhaji Babagana Kalli, Chairman of the NFF Security Sub-Committee; Dr. Mohammed Sanusi MON, NFF General Secretary; and Mr. Shina Atilola, Executive Director of PTB, among others.
