Nigeria’s president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in attendance when the Super Eagles take on hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe revealed the news during his interaction with the media on Friday.
Motsepe was asked during his press conference at the Palace de la culture, Trechville, Abidjan when can Africa host the World Cup again.
The South African replied: “Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday. I will have a conversation with him about it.”
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s number two citizen, Kashim Shettima was in attendance when the Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Nigeria and South Africa will clash in the final at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.
The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 9pm Nigeria time.
