Pretty Deadly scored an upset win on WWE SmackDown, and they earned a title shot in the process.
On the February 7th episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) came to the ring and discussed their win over the Motor City Machine Guns at WWE Royal Rumble. They gloated about their win, but they were interrupted Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson). Pretty Deadly made it clear that they wanted a title shot.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis interrupted and gave Pretty Deadly the chance to earn a title shot, as he booked a match between them and DIY. DIY were in street clothes, but they competed nonetheless. Elton Prince ultimately scored the win, as he stacked Ciampa up and got the three count. In doing so, they earned a future title match, but the date of the bout was not announced.
Pretty Deadly are former NXT Tag Team Champions and NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
