Ashley Hansen, the Global Press Secretary & Head of Communications for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is launching her own public relations firm, Three Gate Strategies, and she’s taking the Royals with her.

Hansen has been the Global Press Secretary & Head of Communications for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell for more than two years. She will continue to represent and advise The Duke and Duchess, whilst providing oversight to their international communications team. Hansen will continue to amplify the vital causes and endeavors undertaken by the couple, in addition to repping their new business ventures and creative projects.

We hear that the Duke and Duchess fully support Hansen’s new venture. It came about after she was approached by other clients seeking the high-quality counsel she had provided to the Sussexes. Three Gate Strategies now becomes part of a portfolio of female-led enterprises and new business ventures that The Duchess has supported since moving to the US in 2020.

The L.A. based firm derives its name from the Persian poet Rumi: “Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates. Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”

Three Gates Strategies will specialize in communications and brand management for distinguished individuals and organizations. The new firm’s current client roster also includes high-profile individuals across entertainment, tech, and finance.

Hansen built out the Duke and Duchess’s current comms team earlier this year, appointing two senior level communications executives, Kyle Boulia and Charlie Gipson, who are respectively based in Los Angeles and London. The team also includes longtime executives, Miranda Barbot, who began her tenure as Manager of Communications and is now VP of Programming and Media Operations and Deesha Tank, Director of Communications, who joined the Office of The Duke and Duchess alongside me back in 2022.

During her run with the Sussexes, Hansen has advised the couple through various historical moments and projects including their docuseries, Harry & Meghan, Spare, Archetypes, Queen Elizabeth’s passing and The King’s coronation.

Hansen’s career includes being an anchor producer at Good Morning America, the Head of Communications at Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, UTA’s Director of Comms, and a VP of Communications at Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.

“We are so proud of Ashley, especially as a female entrepreneur. We look forward to having her focused expertise on our business and creative projects and her continued oversight of our communications team. My husband and I are excited to be alongside Ashley as she builds something extraordinarily special with her firm,” said Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex on behalf of the couple.

Said Hansen, “I am incredibly grateful to The Duke and Duchess for their continued trust. Their unwavering support and belief in my new firm has been meaningful and is a testament to their leadership. I knew when they first hired me that they were giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn’t be happier to continue working together.”
