Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) has donated GH¢50,000 and branded souvenirs to the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana Foundation at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
This is the second donation from the Bank to the Foundation, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting child cancer patients and their families.
Ms Akua Sarpong, Executive Director and Co-founder of the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Foundation, who received the donation on behalf of the Pediatric Oncology Unit expressed her gratitude to Prudential Bank for its unwavering support.
She explained that parents and caregivers of children with cancer often face significant financial burdens due to lengthy treatment protocols and the need for constant care.
This, she said, frequently leads to parents quitting their jobs and spending their life savings on medical treatment for their children.
Ms Sarpong noted that assistance from organisations such as Prudential Bank brings much-needed relief, enabling parents and healthcare staff to focus on providing the necessary care without the added worry of financial constraints.
Mr Ebow Quayson, Executive Head of Retail and Commercial Banking at Prudential Bank, thanked the Foundation for reaching out to the Bank and highlighting the needs of the Oncology Unit.
He stated that donations like these are part of the Bank’s efforts to give back to the communities that have supported the Bank’s growth over the years.
During the visit, the team from PBL was given a tour of the Day Care Unit at the Pediatric Oncology Centre.
The tour provided them with a deeper understanding of the unit’s operations and opened discussions on exploring further areas where the Bank could offer support
