The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 31 Assistant Commissioners of Police to Deputy Commissioners of Police.
This comes two days after 684 senior police officers were elevated to various ranks.
A statement on Sunday by the commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, said the promoted officers are the Area Commander of Kabba in Kogi, Godspower Origho; Coordinator BPU, Sokoto State Command, Abubakar Ibrahim; Department of Operations, Cross Rivers State Command, Kabiru Ibrahim; Department of Operations, Enugu State Command, Ochiabutor Ejike; Area Commander Kafanchan, Danladi Ibrahim and, Department of Operations, Ondo State Command, John Ngwoye.
Others are the Department of Operations Bauchi State Command, Sulieman Salihu; Area Commander Ngor Okpalla Imo State Command, Udeme Stephen; Liberal Studies, Police Staff College Jos, John Sendere; Department of Operations, Katsina State Command, Aliyu Haliru; Department of Finance and Accounts, Jigawa State Command, Atiku Musa; Area Commander, Agbor, Delta State Command, Adeniran Babatunde; Commander Ugoniyi, Edo State Command, Daniel Habila;
SID FCT Command, Sulieman Toyin; Force Sec Office, Sulieman Gulma; BPU Katsina State, Aliyu Sa’ad; Commandant Police Training School, Sokoto, Kabir Mohammed and, Office of the National Security Adviser, Ralph Akinbisehin, among others.
Ani also said the commission promoted 52 Chief Superintendents of Police to the next rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police.
“They are Offiong Effiong, Simeon Timbomna, Edward Akaniyere, Yusuf Alhaji Bala, Ikenna Ogwu, Joshua Adewalehinmi and Edward Weghyina of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre NCCC.
“Others are Oladele Bamidele, Ikechukwu Osuoha, Niyere Andrea Rwang, Fatimah Gimba, Olubunmi Apapa, Godwin Onah, Patrick Agbazue, Stephen Ukam and Yusuf Abdullahi,” he said.
Also, Ani said the commission promoted 505 Superintendents of Police to the next rank of Chief Superintendents.
Ani added, “ The commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), congratulated the newly promoted officers and said the commission under his watch would build a police force that would be worthy of its name.”
