PSG, a huge coup at only €47 million?

Still looking for a striker, PSG could make a very good deal for less than 50 million euros.

This is one of the main projects of the PSG summer transfer window. With the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, the capital club finds itself without a real headliner in attack. Two weeks before the resumption of the Ligue 1 season, no star has yet joined the Parisian ranks and the trail leading to Victor Osimhen has cooled considerably in recent days.

Which scorer will compete with Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani? An attractive name has resurfaced since Friday. It is Julian Alvarez. If Atlético Madrid would be in pole position to welcome him, Argentinian coach Diego Simeone having made him his priority, the Red and Blue would still have hope of diverting the 2022 world champion from the Colchoneros.

PSG in competition with Atlético Madrid

According to TyC Sportsthe 24-year-old player’s agent is expected in Paris to talk with the Parisian leaders. Author of 11 goals in 36 Premier League matches last season, the Manchester City striker is no longer fully satisfied with his role as Erling Haaland’s understudy at the Sky Blues and would like a change, even if it means a change of scenery.

A godsend for PSG, especially since this recruitment would not be so complicated to complete financially. Under contract until 2028 with the Citizens, Julian Alvarez is estimated at 90 million euros by the specialized site Transfermarkt. But according to the Manchester Evening Newsthe English club could let him go for a minimum price of 47 million euros.

The reigning triple French champions will probably have to pay a little more than that sum to attract the Argentinian international, especially if Atlético Madrid continues to be insistent on this file. But enlisting a striker like him, with such potential, would be a huge coup for the club chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
