Paris Saint-Germain wants to recruit a new central defender and one of their priority targets is Edmond Tapsoba.

A year after the arrival of Milan Skriniar, Paris Saint-Germain is looking for another central defender. Injured for a good part of the season, the solid Slovak never really convinced. A real disappointment for a man who was nevertheless radiant when he played at Inter Milan. Result, PSG wants to recruit a new strong man. He would like to bring Edmond Tapsoba.

If the name of the Burkinabè international is not yet necessarily known to the general public, the fact remains that the player has shone this season with Bayer Leverkusen and that he is in the sights of several big European teams . In addition to Manchester United and Chelsea who have already inquired about his case, Tapsoba would also be the target of PSG, as confirmed

Foot Mercato this Thursday.

A meeting took place

The specialized media also indicated that the Parisian recruiters had met the agent of the twenty-five-year-old player and that the representative was not opposed to the arrival of his foal in the club of the French capital. While waiting to know whether Edmond Tapsoba himself would be interested in such a transfer, it remains to be seen what Bayer Leverkusen will think. German champion for the first time in its history this season under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, the club will compete in the Champions League next year and intends to retain as many of the players who took it to the top as possible.

But Bayer is nevertheless aware that it will be difficult to keep everyone, especially in the event of a substantial financial offer. According to FM, Tapsoba’s release clause would amount to eighty million euros. If PSG is ready to pay it, Leverkusen could therefore give the green light to the departure of the native of Ouagadougou. On the Parisian side, such an expenditure will involve the sale of at least one other player of the same profile. For example, it could be Presnel Kimpembe or Milan Skriniar.
