The story between PSG and Hugo Ekitike will therefore not resume at the end of the season. Loaned since the last moments of the winter transfer window to Eintracht Frankfurt, the 21-year-old French striker will stay in Germany. The two clubs communicated this Friday about the exercise of the purchase option included in the loan. It amounts to €20 million.

Eintracht seems convinced of the potential of the former Rémois, as evidenced by the long-term contract which was signed. “The 1.89 meter tall striker has already made twelve appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt. The Frenchman scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on the final day. By activating the purchase option, Ekitiké obtains a contract until 2029”, we can read on the official website of the German club. Contract until 2029 therefore and above all great confidence from sports director Markus Krösche.

Eintracht was convinced

“During his previous appearances, Hugo showed his qualities. We firmly believe in his great potential and look forward to seeing him in an Eintracht jersey beyond the current season.”, declared Krösche, who in recent weeks has made no secret of his desire to keep Ekitike. Even though the latter took time to digest his change of club, and to regain sufficient physical condition to continue the matches.

Scorer against Augsburg on the last day, Ekitike broke through. Enough to convince his new management, who did not hesitate to sign this big check for PSG. The Ile-de-France club succeeded in a great financial transaction, for a player on whom it no longer counted for the future. Frankfurt takes a big thorn out of his side.
