The Georgian winger’s current contract with the Serie A side expires in 2027 and his representatives recently met with club management to discuss the terms of a new long-term contract. However, Sky Italia reports that these discussions have stalled after a disagreement over the player’s salary. Napoli have reportedly offered €6 million per season, which is significantly lower than Kvaratskhelia’s €8 million demand. The player could, however, reduce his request if the club agrees to keep his release clause below 100 million euros.
The Georgian international’s complicated contractual situation with the Italian side has alarmed two European giants, Barcelona and PSG, who have long been interested in the player. La Repubblica reported last week that the Catalan giants are reportedly preparing a bid worth €80 million as they look to further strengthen their attack.

Kvaratskhelia has started the 2024-25 campaign on a high note after recording five goals and two assists in 12 league appearances. Napoli currently hold a one-point lead over Atalanta at the top of the Serie A table.
Antonio Conte’s side, who have won eight of their opening 12 league matches, will next be seen in action against a struggling Roma side on November 24 in Serie A.
