While this case had been closed without further action two years ago for “insufficiently characterized offense“, the Paris prosecutor’s office has launched a new investigation concerning facts that allegedly took place around fifteen years ago.
The Human Rights League, which filed a complaint at the time, was delighted with this news, as confided by Arié Alimi, the lawyer who represents it. “We are very satisfied that this procedure has been opened, despite the dismissal of the case by a section of the Paris prosecutor’s office. The motivations question the positioning of this section, responsible in theory for combating discrimination and hate speech.” For its part, PSG, through its master lawyer Antoine Masonneuve, indicated: “PSG did not commit any discrimination, as the prosecution demonstrated.
