Leny Yoro is one of the signings of the summer, but the 18-year-old is set to miss the start of the season after sustaining a metatarsal injury on pre-season tour.

Manchester United have yet to confirm the diagnosis of Yoro’s injury, although it has been reported that he is not expected to return until the end of September.

The French defender was seen on crutches and wearing a protective boot on his foot at the open training session on Tuesday.

It still goes down as one of the biggest coups of the summer because Real Madrid were willing to pay €30m for Yoro, PSG were interested and Liverpool wanted him too.

According to Spanish publication Marca, PSG had carried out medical tests on Yoro and found that he had a metatarsal injury. The report adds that United knew about this but took the risk for that amount of money.

It is understood Yoro sustained a metatarsal injury in his second friendly match against Arsenal in Los Angeles.

We don’t want a repeat of that this coming season.
