Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly highlighted Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva as their top summer transfer target.
The Portuguese winger is enjoying another fine campaign at the Etihad. Already reaching double figures for direct Premier League goal contributions (six goals and four assists) for the season, Silva, 29, remains a hugely important player for Pep Guardiola.
This isn’t the first time the 29-year-old has been linked with a high-profile transfer out of England though.

Following such strong speculation, Manchester City opted to renew Silva’s contract last year. The former Monaco star’s latest deal is thought to contain a £51 million (€60 million) release clause so seeing long-time admirers Barcelona overcome their financial issues and make a move now feels unlikely — the same cannot be said for Paris Saint-Germain though.
The Ligue 1 giants are already wealthy, and, if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid at the end of the season, more funds will become available.
Viewed as a possible marquee signing, Luis Enrique, according to a recent report from Fichajes, has given the go-ahead for Paris Saint-Germain’s hierarchy to pursue a summer deal. How Manchester City will feel about this is another matter though, and even if Paris Saint-Germain trigger his clause, the decision to move will lie with Silva, who, after seven years in England, clearly enjoys the high demands of the Premier League.
Since joining City from Monaco in 2017, Silva, who has scored 62 goals in 334 games, has lifted 15 major trophies, including last season’s incredible treble.
