The suspense ends. It wasn’t really one, especially since the series of unbeaten matches in the league started in September. PSG is once again crowned champion of France this Sunday evening thanks to the defeat conceded (2-3) by AS Monaco on the pitch of Olympique Lyonnais. The capital club can no longer be joined, in particular by Monaco who had delayed this success by beating Lille (1-0) last Wednesday. This time, the Asemists can only note the Parisian supremacy in the championship.

The capital club is crowned again, this time from the 31st day, i.e. 3 matches from the end of this 2023/2024 version. This is also the 3rd consecutive title, and the 12th in the history of the Rouge et Bleu. On the other hand, it is indeed a first for Luis Enrique, already winner of the Champions Trophy in January. Arriving last summer, the Spanish coach embodies this new performance despite the regular criticism to which he is constantly subject.

Mbappé top scorer, Dembélé best passer

It is clear that with the technician at the helm, PSG is having a historic season for the moment. In addition to the two titles already acquired and a championship where they have so far only experienced one defeat (against Nice at the Parc des Princes on September 15), the Ile-de-France residents still have the opportunity to pick up two new trophies: first with the final of the Coupe de France to be played against Olympique Lyonnais (May 25) and the semi-finals of the Champions League where we will have to face Borussia Dortmund (first leg on May 1, return on the 7 ).

Obviously, certain elements were more important than others in the quest for this new title of champion of France. We of course think of Kylian Mbappé, author of 26 goals and current top scorer in Ligue 1, but also of Ousmane Dembélé, best passer with his 8 goals, or even Bradley Barcola, Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma to name but a few. The party is great in Paris this evening and could continue in a few weeks.
