Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined PSG this Friday, but he will not be able to play in the upcoming Champions League matches against Manchester City and Stuttgart. Due to UEFA rules, he is not eligible until the knockout stage.

Article 32.01 of the continental body indicates that “After the completion of the league stage and before the start of the knockout stage, a club may register a maximum of three new qualified players for the remaining matches of the current competition. These registrations must be made until February 6, 2025 (at midnight) at the latest“. PSG, currently 25th with seven points, must first qualify for the play-offs. If Paris succeeds, Kvaratskhelia will be able to participate in the following matches of the competition.
