With the competition barely underway, Luis Enrique is already looking ahead to the Champions League final.

PSG got their Champions League campaign off to a good start last week. The style may not have been there, but the result was secured with a 1-0 win over the Spanish side Girona.

Luis Enrique has enjoyed this successful start. And now he is looking ahead. Very far indeed. In an interview with Movistar, he indicated that he is already thinking about the final of the competition.

Luis Enrique dreams of returning to Barça

When asked if he hoped to reunite with his former club Barça at this stage of the competition, the Parisian coach said that he “did not dare to imagine” such a finale. That would be a treat.”he added enthusiastically.

As a reminder, PSG has only reached the continent’s premier final once in its history. It was in 2020 and it lost 0-1 against Bayern, on a goal by Kingsley Coman. Otherwise, there have been 3 semi-finals played, all lost: in 1995, in 2021 and in 2024.

Luis Enrique, for his part, has already known the honour of a C1 title. In 2015, he led the Blaugrana to the supreme title after a triumph against Juventus. That year, he even won the treble.
