Luis Enrique’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain continues to fuel debate.
Praised several times by its president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Enrique seems to be unanimous among the higher authorities of Paris Saint-Germain. Arriving a year and a half ago, the former Spain coach is appreciated for his methods and his playing precepts.
After a very encouraging first year with a faultless performance on the national scene and a run to the semi-final of the Champions League, the current season is tarnished for the moment by the very contrasting results of PSG in the League phase, in C1. Could elimination weaken it?
PSG, the specter of elimination
Asked to speak out on this subject, Pierre Ménès cannot imagine a thank you from Luis Enrique, even in the event of major European disillusionment. An observation which is also based on the fact that the Spaniard recently extended his contract with PSG.
“ Would Luis Enrique get fired if eliminated? As I see it, I want to say no but we know that it is enough for the Emir not to like his boiled egg for that to change. Ménès said on his YouTube channel.
“ Yes I think there is a real risk that PSG will not qualify because Bayern needs points, City took 4 in Lisbon, PSG who are playing the penultimate match against City at the Parc could have hope City are in the lead to make it easier but that won’t be the case“, however, added the former journalist.
