In a major development, Le Parisien reports that PSG have made Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal a priority for the summer transfer window.

Reports of PSG’s interest in the 16-year-old sensation have been doing the rounds in the past few months.

In fact, it was even suggested that an offer of €200 million was made by the Parisian giants, although those claims were later refuted.

Now, though, it appears that PSG are serious about their pursuit of Yamal and have made him a priority.

PSG want Yamal to replace Mbappe

As per the report, PSG manager Luis Enrique is a great admirer of the 16-year-old Barcelona wonderkid.

With Kylian Mbappe set to depart for Real Madrid this summer, PSG are looking for a replacement and sporting director Luis Campos is looking at several options.

However, it is Yamal that has emerged as a priority, following his breakthrough season this year for Barça.

The teenage sensation has set the stage alight with his explosive displays, something that was on display in the first leg of the UCL quarter-finals against PSG as well as the Clasico last weekend.

As such, Les Parisiens have decided to make a move for the 16-year-old Barcelona academy graduate.

€200 million for Yamal?

Yamal has a contract with Barcelona that runs until the summer of 2026, and the youngster is shielded by a €1 billion release clause.

Even though he is seen as a ‘non-transferable’ player, PSG believe that a lucrative offer, worth around €200 million, could convince Barça to enter into negotiations.

Of course, PSG would only make a move if they see a willingness from the player’s side to make the jump to the French capital.

On that aspect, the Ligue 1 champions hope that their good relationship with Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, could help them.
