Author of two saves during the penalty shootout against RC Lens, Matvey Safonov was one of the great architects of PSG’s victory against the Artésiens in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France (1-1, 4 tab 3). The Russian goalkeeper is taking advantage of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s facial injury to play again and yesterday, the former Krasnodar resident revealed that he had experienced an ordeal during his first training with the Rouge et Bleu.

It’s very interesting for me, it’s a new level and of course I needed time to adapt. I understand the coach’s requests better now, everything is easier for me. When I arrived, the first training sessions were terrible, because it went too fast. I needed time to raise my level and now I am ready to play, to be in this team», he explained in the mixed zone after the match.
