PSG, Naples: the price of Victor Osimhen will drop drastically

It was one of the soap operas of last summer, but above all, one of the most surprising transfers of recent years in the transfer window. At the end of the last transfer window, Victor Osimhen signed with Galatasaray as part of a one-season loan. Uncomfortable in Naples and not necessarily on good terms with Antonio Conte, the former LOSC player therefore decided to go to Türkiye, while he found the best shoe for him.

And for the moment, everything is going well for him in Istanbul. He scored 5 goals in his last 3 games before the international break, including a double against Tottenham in the Europa League. In total, he has 8 goals and 3 assists in 9 matches in all competitions with Galatasaray, where he has already become an idol.

A price well revised downwards

But we know that if Osimhen left for Türkiye, it is because he did not find a buyer with big elite championship clubs in Europe. Largely because the interested teams, like Chelsea or PSG, had no intention of aligning themselves with the XXL demands of Naples and its sulphurous president Aurelio De Laurentiis. There was indeed talk of sums exceeding 100 million euros, and Naples was in a strong position since the player’s release clause had so far been 130 million euros.

Next summer, however, it will be cheaper. As explained Gazzetta dello Sportthe player’s release clause will increase to 75 million euros next summer, as was agreed during his last contract extension. A sum that is a priori rather affordable for the biggest European clubs, who already regularly pay these sums for offensive players each summer. PSG and other interested clubs have been notified…
