Bernardo Silva is a hot topic in Barcelona yet again ahead of the summer transfer window with his future at Manchester City seemingly uncertain.
As per reports earlier in the week, Silva could look to leave the Etihad in the summer with Barcelona being his priority in case of a departure.
The same has been hinted at by Joao Felix, who claimed in an interview this month that he has convinced Silva to come to Barça.
PSG to meddle in Barcelona’s pursuit
However, a fresh update from journalist Oriol Domenech (h/t AS) states that PSG are set to meddle with Barcelona’s pursuit of Silva in the summer transfer window.
As per the report, the Parisian heavyweights tried to sign the 29-year-old midfield maestro last summer as well and will go after his services once again this year.
Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, could be the key to unlocking the situation and the Portuguese representative has good relationships with both Barcelona and PSG, setting up for an intriguing situation.
Silva has a release clause worth £50 million in his contract with Manchester City – a sum that might be feasible for Barça if they are to make an important sale in the summer.
And the fact that the Portuguese international, who will be turning 30 in August, seems to favour a move to Barcelona could give them an advantage over PSG in the race.
But as mentioned, the funds would have to be raised through an important sale or some sponsorship agreement.
