UEFA has revealed the identity of the referee who will officiate during the round of 16 of the Champions League between PSG and Real Sociedad.

PSG is preparing to return to the Champions League. Narrowly qualified for the round of 16 after finishing second in their group, the French champions will face Real Sociedad this Wednesday evening (9 p.m.), at the Parc des Princes.

This first leg between Parisians and Basques will be led by Marco Guida, UEFA announced this Monday. The Italian official will be assisted by his compatriots Ciro Carbone and Giorgio Peretti. Fabio Maresca will be the fourth referee, while Paolo Valeri and Aleandro Di Paolo will officiate as video assistant referee.

PSG has fond memories of Marco Guida. The latter has refereed the capital club only once, during the Rouge et Bleu’s victory over Leipzig (3-2) in October 2021. Furthermore, the 42-year-old international referee was on the whistle during the feat of RC Lens against Arsenal (2-1) last October.
