Barcelona remain hopeful that Nico Williams will join the club this summer, despite the 22-year-old already back in training with Athletic Club ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Club officials are prepared to wait another two weeks, after which they would abandon their efforts for at least another 12 months.

While the wait for Williams continues, Barcelona have begun to consider other targets at winger. One of them is Kingsley Coman, whose representatives have already spoken about a possible move before the summer transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Paris wants Coman

Bayern Munich are willing to let Coman leave on loan, with an option/obligation to buy. It would be a low-cost move for Barcelona, although their decision not to move until the Williams saga is over could cost them dearly. Indeed, Florian Plettenburg has reported that Paris Saint-Germain have advanced their interest in the 28-year-old, who came through their academy.

PSG have already spoken with Bayern and Coman’s representatives, which gives them a head start on Barcelona. However, it seems that there is still a long way to go in this saga.
