This Wednesday, Sira Martínez Cullell, the daughter of Luis Enrique, gave an interview to Marca. The rider explained that her famous father is not a big fan of her passion. “No, besides, I think he thought at first that it was a bit stupid on my part and that little by little I was going to give up. I also played a lot of tennis and he thought I was going to take up the sport. But in the end, it was a very smooth process and as a result I ended up with a horse that competed more and more. And so far, everything is going well.”

Then, the journalist asked him if the PSG coach gives him advice. The young woman replied: “when I go to ask him for advice, it’s more for me than as an athlete, because he doesn’t have a lot to tell me about horses, but it’s true that last year, when I had a bad time, he was able to help me a lot by talking to me. He’s a top athlete, he understands things much better, he knows that there are good times and bad times… that’s why he helps me.” She then added: “yes, of course (he’s his idol, editor’s note). I also know that it is very hard and that you have to work hard to achieve what you have accomplished. Ultimately, he’s someone I also admire as a sportsman, not just as a father.” Finally, she admitted to having been uncomfortable seeing certain passages of the documentary dedicated to Luis Enrique on Movistar+. “I was embarrassed, like I didn’t want to go out much, but everything was fine. You suffer as a family because, like everyone else, you want your father or parents to do well at work, but the good times are also very good, like in any sport or any other situation.” Luis Enrique will appreciate it.
