Paris Saint-Germain fans were given a massive scare on Sunday when Ousmane Dembele missed out on the Montpellier game.

The winger was excluded from the PSG squad that faced Montpellier, leading to fears over a potential injury.

Many even started to question his availability for France for the upcoming international break and by extension, the Champions League quarterfinal against PSG next month.

Here’s why Dembele was ruled out

However, it was later revealed that Luis Enrique had opted not to include Dembele in the PSG squad owing to his ear discomfort.

Enrique believed the former Barcelona winger had taken strong medication to cure his eardrum problem. As a result, the Spaniard dropped him from the squad as a precaution.

That means Dembele has not picked up any fresh injury and there are no concerns over his fitness.

Dembele to be available vs Barcelona

As reported by SPORT, everything suggests Dembele will be able to play for France in the upcoming international break and should even feature on Saturday’s game against Germany.

This should serve as a massive relief for French coach Didier Deschamps, who will have one final chance to experiment with his squad before embarking on the Euro 2024 journey this summer.

PSG fans, though, will be relieved as well, knowing Dembele should be fit to play against his former team Barcelona next month, in the quarterfinal of the Champions League.

This could serve as a massive blow for Barça, who will have to take on the likes of Dembele and Kylian Mbappe, as they look to book a place in the semifinal of the Champions League.
