The links between Barcelona and Bernardo Silva have once again popped up a few months ahead of the summer transfer window, as has been the case for the past few years.

The Manchester City playmaker desires to leave the Etihad this summer and is ‘crazy’ to sign for Barça and is ready to accept a pay reduction.

The fact that he has a relatively affordable release clause of €58 million and the optimism within Barcelona about reaching the 1:1 rule in the summer has filled hope that a move for the Portuguese could be possible.

PSG to attempt signing Silva again

However, as per Le Parisien in France, PSG are set to make a fresh attempt to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer, after failing last year.

The Ligue 1 champions are looking for some fresh faces in their attacking unit ahead of the impending departure of Kylian Mbappe.

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is already on the agenda of PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos, who is also eager to sign Bernardo from City.

It must be noted that Silva is represented by superagent Jorge Mendes, who has excellent relations with Les Parisiens.

In fact, the Ligue 1 bigwigs have a number of Mendes’ clients on their books already in the form of Warren Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte and Goncalo Ramos.

So, there is hope that they can leverage their relationship with Mendes to get their man.

But, Silva’s heart appears to be set on a move to Barcelona, so much so that it is suggested that he might be open to accepting a pay cut to join the Catalans.

Only time will tell how things pan out, but Silva appears set to become a centre of speculations for yet another summer.
