With Barcelona set to take on PSG in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinals tomorrow, a hostile reception awaits them at Parc des Princes.

Indeed, PSG ultras already sent out a message this past weekend confirming their intentions of wanting to make things as uncomfortable as possible for Barcelona on the pitch at the French capital club’s home turf on Wednesday.

What do the PSG ultras have planned?

Now, a report from SPORT has provided some details about how the PSG ultras plan on ‘intimidating’ Barcelona players in the lead-up to the blockbuster clash at Parc des Princes.

Smoke canisters and marches with loud noises to create a hellish atmosphere – that’s what the PSG ultras are preparing despite the threat of suspension by UEFA for using pyrotechnics.

The aim of Les Parisiens’ fan group is to light up the area around Parc des Princes in order to try and intimidate the FC Barcelona players.

“Our role will be fundamental and we demand from everyone a total and collective mobilisation. Let’s light up our legendary Parc des Princes, let’s be relentless,” a communique issued by the PSG ultras read.

In any case, the ultras group is aware that its action could be punished by UEFA, who have been ruthless in this edition of the Champions League this year when it comes to acting against intimidating actions of this kind.

The report adds that in case the march and the fireworks plan is not carried out, PSG ultras have an alternative plan.

In order to ‘compensate’, a tifo is planned in the stands that will ‘whip’ Barça when the two teams take the field. The content of the tifo is a closely guarded secret by the PSG ultras.

Either way, Barcelona will be in for a hostile reception in Paris and will need to rise above all of it to emerge victorious against Luis Enrique’s men.
