Dutch international Xavi Simons has set a deadline for his future.

Xavi Simons continues to fuel discussions. Loaned by Paris Saint-Germain to Leipzig since the start of the season, the Dutchman has splashed all his talent on the Bundesliga with 9 goals and 15 assists in 41 matches. To the point that the management of Rotten Bullen would consider keeping him for an additional season.

Leipzig coach Marco Rose confirmed this desire: “He would also be a very important player for me next year. We do not have total control of the situation. The important thing is to qualify for the Champions League. Then, we want to direct the discussions in the direction of an extension of a year or two. Xavi gives the impression that he feels good here, that he is developing well and that overall it is a good environment for him. Therefore, I remain very optimistic about his presence among us next year”he confided in an interview for Sky Sport Deutschland.

Xavi Simons has made a decision

For his part, Xavi Simons would like to make a decision concerning his future before Euro 2024, if we are to believe the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. The European Nations Championship will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14.

The question nevertheless remains whether PSG will agree to let the former Masia player continue his adventure in Leipzig. Otherwise, the capital club could decide to repatriate the Amsterdammer, under contract until June 2027, for next season.
