Reinforcing Manchester United’s frontline is a non-negotiable for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. this summer.

Finding the back of the net has been incredibly hard to come by for the Red Devils over the past nine months, and it’s led to the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho being frequently overused.

The latter of the prolific duo has started 37 consecutive matches in all competitions for the club despite his breakthrough into the first team only coming last season. The 19-year-old is, however, highly favoured by fans over Antony, who cost £86 million and registered just one Premier League goal and one assist this season.

As such, United have found themselves heavily linked with exhilarating Crystal Palace pair Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, both of whom have enjoyed scintillating ends to the season ever since Oliver Glasner took the reins.

Olise etched his name onto the scoresheet twice in the Eagles’ 4-0 thrashing over United at Selhurst Park, while Eze was a creative catalyst throughout his time on the pitch, causing Erik ten Hag’s dejected men all kinds of problems.

United urged to pay Palace what they desire for sought-after duo

Treble-winner Dwight Yorke has urged his former club to go all-out in pursuit of the attackers, although it remains to be seen if Palace would part ways with both in one window. If they did, they’d reportedly demand upwards of £60 million each for their star men.

“I’ve identified two players who I feel are really good,” Yorke said recently of United’s potential transfer targets, as cited by the Express. “The two boys at Crystal Palace, Eze and Olise. I think those two are fantastic young players.”

Chris Sutton shared the sentiment when discussing the forthcoming window on BBC Sport’s Monday Night Club, declaring: “If they [United] are not in for Olise and Eze, they are bonkers. They [Palace] are not going to hold onto them.”
