QT Marshall, who had been with AEW since its inception, left the promotion when his contract expired. Despite this, Marshall has now returned to AEW. With that said, he ha disclosed conversations he had with WWE before his AEW comeback.

In case you missed it, QT Marshall announced his resignation from AEW via a social media post last year. AEW President Tony Khan praised Marshall and expressed openness to his return. Following the resolution of issues, Marshall has chosen to come back to AEW, but not in an in-ring capacity.

While speaking to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda, QT Marshall talked about potentially joining WWE during his time away from AEW. Marshall made it clear that he did not want to be a producer in WWE.

“Tony and I have spoken numerous times about this. I’m not going to WWE just to be a producer. I can do that at AEW, where I can work one day a week, and I’m number whatever in the company, in the top ten, where as, I go to WWE, I start at the bottom, I make less money, I’m on the road more. The only perk is that I get to be with my friend Cody [Cody Rhodes] and just to say that I work for WWE, which has been my dream since I was eight years old, but it’s not my dream to be a producer for WWE. I did speak to them, and we don’t know what could happen. Ideally, I’m back to AEW under an employee role.”

QT Marshall, now Vice President of Creative Coordination at AEW, shared that his role involves handling talent ideas and presenting them to Tony. Despite briefly considering WWE, he found AEW to be the best fit for him, especially for the creative aspects he desires.

I’m back to the old position, Vice President of Creative Coordination. A lot of it is dealing with talent. It’s getting the talent ideas to Tony. There is a lot of talent, they all have ideas.

To me, if I wasn’t going to go to WWE and wrestle…when I spoke to them, it was a three-four minute conversation and they asked me what I wanted to do. I asked them what I would like to do, and we never got past that point. The guy that linked me up with them was like, ‘You’re already going back to AEW?’ Yeah, because I understand what I want to do, and what I want to do, even if I was a full-time in-ring talent at WWE, I couldn’t do all of this stuff. For everything I want to do, this is the best fit for me, unless something comes along and it’s the greatest opportunity and I can’t say no. Ideally, I’m not in that position, so it’s not something I think about.”

QT Marshall’s responsibilities following his AEW return have also been revealed. Nevertheless, only time will tell whether QT Marshall will prove to be a valuable asset to AEW in the long run.
