For several weeks, the worst has been feared for the Ligue 1 TV rights settlement. The main broadcaster of the French championship matches, Dazn, refused to pay its deadline of 35 million euros in January. It is now done. The British group decided to settle the sum before waiting for the decision of the Paris Commercial Court which should have been rendered tomorrow on February 28.

As a reminder, the LFP had decided to lead Dazn leaders in court after their refusal of the TV rights regulation. At the announcement of the TV rights regulation by Dazn, the president of the Professional Football League did not fail to react, as reported

The team:: “I welcome Dazn's decision to pay the € 35 million he owed to the League and therefore to the clubs. »»

Labrune welcomes

The non-payment of the deadline for TV rights could have put in poor provisions the French clubs, already in economic difficulties. Vincent Labrune recalls that the LFP had activated the reserve fund to help Ligue 1 training:

“To deal with this exceptional situation, I remind you that the LFP board of directors had unanimously decided to activate its reserve fund. This emergency system, which had been put in place thanks to the agreement with CVC allowed the Ligue 1 clubs to deal with their short -term cash needs. »»

From now on, it was a new start that was taken between Dazn and the LFP. The president of the body also indicated that he hopes to move forward serenely with the main broadcaster of Ligue 1 matches and help them win new subscribers by reinforcing in particular the fight against hacking: “We have to look in front of us because, clubs, spectators and more generally in love with French football, we have a common interest, that Dazn Perform and wins new subscribers. We have two goals. The first, strengthen the fight against hacking. There is an urgent need to act on the part of the legislator because France has years late compared to its European neighbors. I am delighted to see that the bill carried by Senator Savin is being finalized and I am delighted that it is officially supported by Marie Barsacq et by Rachida Dati that I also saw Tuesday on this subject. »» Everything is good that ends well between Dazn and the LFP.
