The 2024 summer transfer window still has some surprises in store. A Serie A big name is reportedly on the trail of the French midfielder, but negotiations are far from being concluded.

In this final stretch of the summer transfer window, Adrien Rabiot is still on the transfer market as a free agent, since the end of his contract with Juventus Turin on June 30. However, his situation could change before the closing of this transfer window, if we are to believe The Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian sports daily reports that AC Milan is interested in the French midfielder. The Lombard club has already started negotiations to secure Rabiot’s services this summer.

Two hiccups in the file

However, for the moment, the discussions are stumbling on two points of disagreement. On the one hand, there is the salary demanded by the former Parisian, namely 7.5 million euros net, as well as the signing bonus. On the other hand, the 2022 world vice-champion would have conditioned his arrival at San Siro on the departure of a midfielder from the Milan squad.

It should be noted that the recruitment of Rabiot is being considered by the Rossoneri to compensate for the imminent departure of Ismaël Bennacer to Saudi Arabia. However, the Milanese leaders are waiting for an increase in the offer from Al Qadisiyah, currently valued at 20 million euros, before giving the green light.
