Rachel Zegler is acknowledging the controversy surrounding her role in the 2025 live-action version of Snow White. In 2021, it was announced that the 23-year-old actress and singer would play the character of Snow White, and faced backlash due to her Columbian heritage. She also faced controversy when she publicly criticized the original 1937 Disney film version, calling the prince a “stalker.” Keep reading to find out more… However, in a recent interview, Rachel made a statement regarding the fan base’s reaction to her casting and previous comments. “I interpret people’s feelings about this film as a passion for it. What an honor to be part of something that people feel so passionate about. We’re not always going to have the same feelings as everyone around us, and all we can do is give the best of ourselves,” she told Vogue Mexico in an interview originally given in Spanish and translated into English. She continued: “It’s very important for the public to know that Disney has found this beautiful and delicate balance between the animated classic that everyone knows and loves from 1937, and at the same time, introduces it to this new generation.” A new teaser for Snow White dropped earlier this month, where Rachel sings “Whistle While You Work.”
