FC Barcelona will be banned from selling tickets for their next Champions League match due to the racist behavior of their supporters during their match against Monaco.

FC Barcelona have been fined €10,000 and banned from selling tickets to visiting fans for their upcoming Champions League away match against Serbian side Red Star in November. Some of the FC Barcelona supporters displayed a banner during the defeat against Monaco last week on which was written “Flick heil”, a banner with Nazi connotations.

This sanction was imposed by UEFA because FC Barcelona was already suspended with a suspended sentence for the racist behavior of its supporters during the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in April. The club was accused of racist behavior, causing damage and setting off fireworks inside the Parc des Princes, leading to a fine of €32,000 and a suspended ban from sell tickets outside.

Suspended suspension and fine

“The club communicates that it will comply and apply this sanction“, we can read in a press release published on the Barça website. “FC Barcelona will refund the price of the ticket to supporters who have already purchased it.

“FC Barcelona rejects any form of justification of violence and, as stated in Articles 3 and 4 of the Statutes, strives to protect and promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights contained in the International Bill of Human Rights. man adopted by the United Nations. »

Having already been sanctioned for similar cases, FC Barcelona has confirmed that it will strengthen current measures and adopt “other appropriate initiatives”

to prevent such cases from happening again, while applying sanctions to those responsible. UEFA also handed FC Barcelona a new suspended suspension which will come into effect if further violations occur in the next 12 months.
